Leo says that WiFi has pretty much become a commodity and the band is getting really crowded with not only multiple access spots, but also microwaves, cordless phones, and other gadgets that use the 2.4Ghz frequency range. There are other, higher band routers like 5.0Ghz, but they don't travel through walls as well. Still, it's a good idea to get a router that handles both, to increase you're odds. There's also a new standard which will be following 802.11n - the current standard.
