But the 2017 5K iMac is not only just as good, it can actually be faster using single core configurations. So why spend the extra money? He should go with the 2017 iMac and configure it to his budget. 32GB of RAM is plenty, but he should avoid the Fusion drive. They cause more problems than they are worth. He should get a spinning drive to plug into it for his data.

How can I transfer data from my old iPhone to my new iPhone?

Evelyn just got a new iPhone and wants to transfer all her settings and data from her old iPhone 5. Leo says the first thing she'll want to do is backup the old one in iTunes. Make sure to select encryption, because it won't backup her passwords without it. Then she can plug in her iPhone 8 and iTunes will then ask if she wants to restore. How can I get notified audibly that I got a call?

Lee wants to know how he can be notified of a call on his iPhone 7. Leo says that if he looks at his phone icon, he'll see a red dot with the number of calls. Then he can tap it and see what calls he missed. What about an audio notification? Leo says that If This Then That may be able to give him what he needs. He should try the iPhone app, but Apple is pretty restrictive on opening up the iOS architecture. So that could be something it just won't let him do.

Is there an alternative to HTML based mail in the iPhone?

Marco wants a better email client for his iPhone. He's not a fan of HTML based email. Leo says it's dangerous, but most mail clients including Apple Mail panders to users who want to see pretty pictures. But it's just not as secure. They do prevent loading of images unless you request them, but plain text will always be more secure.

How about a good antivirus for his iPhone? Leo says he doesn't have to worry about viruses in an iPhone or macOS. There haven't been any successful malware attempts on iOS.

Does Apple CarPlay support Google Play Music?

Although it's unclear when it will get seeded down to older models. Siri probably won't interact with it or control it, though. He'll definitely want to do that since the phones are locked to the carrier. The Verizon model would work with AT&T, but not the other way around. That's because Verizon's phone is unlocked, but have different radios in each. Leo suggests not even opening the box. He should just take the phone to the Apple Store and swap it out.

Why doesn't my password vault work in iOS 11?

Fred has an iPhone 6 that's been updated to iOS 11. But when he updated it, he lost his password vault file. Leo says that Apple discontinued support for 32-bit apps in iOS11 and as such, a lot of apps simply broke and stopped working. They won't work unless the developer updates them. Fred will have to contact the app developer and see if they're working on a solution. If it backed up the data to DropBox then he may see it there.
