Apps to Help Track Purchases and Subscriptions

Rich DeMuro filled in for Leo Laporte this weekend, and recommended a couple of apps that will help you make purchases and track them. First is an app called Earny. This tracks purchases that you make at major retailers and looks for price drops. Prices change all the time, and we typically check prices before we buy things, but not afterwards. If Earny sees a price drop on a recent purchase, it will collect a refund for you by reaching out to the company. The pro to using this app is obviously the cash you'll get back from purchases.

YouTube Announces Paid Music Service

YouTube announced this week their new subscription music service. Called "YouTube Music Key," the service will cost $9.99 a month and will sync across all devices. It may also include exclusive content including artist's cover songs and unreleased tracks.

Mark wants to know what Leo thinks about Adobe moving to subscriptions instead of selling software. Leo says it's been obvious for awhile that Adobe would rather sell subscriptions rather than software. It's really the trend everywhere now. Leo says if enough people just bought the last version and then stopped, they'd get the message that people don't want a subscription.
