Why can't I use Gmail with Windows Live Mail?

Julia is having problems with Windows Live Mail, which is rejecting her Gmail. Leo says that Julia needs to check her settings to make sure the server settings are properly configured. Make sure that IMAP is enabled in GMail's settings. She could also use POP, but Leo says that IMAP is better. GMail will also give her step by step instructions to set it up as well. Leo recommends turning on two factor authentication. There may be an app specific password she'll need once she turns that on, though.

Is there a noticeable difference between a 1080p computer monitor and a 720p monitor?

Richard wants to know if there would be a big noticeable difference between a PC monitor that is 1920x1080 and a monitor that is 1366x768. Leo says it is, if Richard's daughter is really accustomed to a 1080p screen, but a 1366x768 monitor is still considered "HD." Leo doesn't like the lower resolution displays because he's used to higher resolutions, but as a student, Richard's daughter should be fine with it. Leo recommends just getting the PC with 1366x768.

How can I get my old email onto my new iPhone?

Evan got an iPhone 6 and set up his Outlook account. However, the folders that he has set up appeared without the emails that were inside of them. Leo says that Outlook uses Exchange and it should get duplicated, but it could be stuck. He should try removing it and adding it again. It may also be that the older emails won't show up since the OS doesn't want to overwhelm the phone by downloading thousands of emails. There may be a setting in email that would allow him go to back and get the older email.

How do I keep Facebook from using all my text messages?

Leo says that's been a common complaint since Facebook took messaging out of the original app and forced users to message using their Messenger app. Leo says go into Facebook settings and turn off mobile notifications. It's buried deep in the settings. Go into settings -> Notifications -> Text messaging -. TURN THAT OFF. That will save your text messages.

How can I stop my phone from rearranging itself?

Had has a new HTC One and lately, Ed says it's had a mind of its own. Lately it's been changing cities in the weather app without him being able to reset it. Leo says it could be that the current location setting has changed or the location services has been disabled. Ed says the icon for voice recorder has moved as well. Leo says that they can be moved around, so he should just drag it back.

Why can't I log into my iPad?

Brad has an iPad and he can't log onto it. He clicked on something he shouldn't have and now he's afraid it's been hacked. Leo says the iPad is very secure and he can't really get hacked on it. Leo says it sounds like Brad simply isn't typing it right, if the password works for his wife, but not him. He should check his caps lock. The browser cache may be damaged as well. But the good news is, he can reset it. He should go into Safari, press the "plus" button and select "Private" in the lower left hand corner. He should try logging in there.

How can I prevent my smartphone from autofilling?

Rob has a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and he's got it set to disable the autofill, but it does it anyway. Leo suggests using a different browser. Google Chrome is the best option, and is far more secure.

The chatroom says that the keyboard is doing it, not the browser, and he can disable that in the settings. Leo also uses a third party keyboard called SwiftKey.
