Shane from Indianapolis, IN
Nvidia Shield Tablet

Shane has an Nvidia Shield gaming device and every time he tries to buy something from the Google Play Store, he gets an error. That may leave Shane with only one option — to reset the Shield itself.

What's a good streaming option in a rural area?

Episode 1372

Chris from Aqua Dulce, CA
Roku Express

Chris wants to cut the cord, but because he lives in a rural area, he can't get a bundled alternative. So he's looking at relying solely on internet for his TV options. What's sufficient streaming? Leo says that for 1080p, he'll need 15-20 Mbps down. If he wants 4K, he'll need at least 50Mbps. Sling TV is a good live streaming option, but Leo's favorite is PlayStation Vue. Both will give him local live channels.

Why does my TV restart?

Episode 1366

Bill from Fullerton, CA
Sony XBR55X850D 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV

Bill has a Sony Smart TV, and it has to be rebooted pretty often due to the computer crashing. Leo says this is why the industry doesn't need a computer inside of everything. A TV shouldn't need to be rebooted, so that points to something being wrong with the TV. Sony may have a reboot procedure that can wipe it and reinstall the OS. Since it runs Android TV, there should be a way to do it, but the question is how. Only Sony can tell him that.
