The iPad Pro is the newest and largest tablet from Apple. It has a 12.9-inch Retina display with 5.6 million pixels, which is the highest resolution display of any iOS device. iPad Pro is also much faster, with CPU performance nearly double the iPad Air 2. It runs on a new 64-bit A9X processor. Battery life is similar to the other iPads Apple sells -- up to 10 hours of web use on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music. The cellular model can get up to 9 hours of web use.
iOS 9 has also seen developments that make it more suitable to the larger iPad Pro screen. It has made multitasking easier, by allowing two apps to run side-by-side by 'snapping' them into place. There are also more third party apps being developed to take advantage of the bigger screen.
Apple has included four new speakers on the iPad Pro. This new design gives it three times the output of the audio on the iPad Air. It also automatically adjusts the sound as you change the orientation. The rear-facing iSight camera is 8MP and can record 1080p video, and the FaceTime camera is 1.2MP and can record 720p video. Like the other current iPads, iPad Pro has a Touch ID sensor as well.
The Apple Pencil will also be available soon, and that opens up the iPad Pro's possibilities further. It is pressure and tilt sensitive, which gives it a very natural writing and drawing experience. There's also a Smart Keyboard available which can connect using the new Smart Connector of the iPad Pro, which is capable of two-way exchange of power and data.
iPad Pro starts at $799, and is available in Silver White, Gold, and Space Gray.
