This week's myth to bust is about Lens Hoods, which are meant to make your lens look bigger. Not so. They're designed to eliminate unwanted lens flares. Some lenses are very prone to it. Light coming around the picture that doesn't contribute to it, and can be filtered out with a lens hood. Lens hoods can also help with lens accuracy. It can eliminate strong light sources coming in that can affect your aperture and shutter speed settings. So they actually do have a very good use.
